Oboist, Kris Klavik, is a versatile musician with an extensive playing background performing in orchestral, chamber, musical theater and jazz venues.
Since relocating to the Pacific Northwest, Kris has had the pleasure of performing with many groups including Fear No Music, Bloch Festival Orchestra, Eugene Symphony, Portland Chamber Orchestra, Columbia Symphony Orchestra and Mock’s Crest Productions to name just a few. Currently she can be heard playing oboe/english horn with the Newport Symphony Orchestra, Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Bravo!Vancouver Chamber Orchestra, Oregon Coast Chamber Music Society and Oregon Mozart Players. She has performed in Switzerland and toured France with the Central New York Orchestra as principal oboe.
When she’s not “tooting” her oboe, Kris is “blowing” her saxophone as a member of the saxophone quartet, Quartette Barbette, where she plays tenor saxophone.
Time away from her busy schedule is spent at home in the garden with her cat, Gus.
